COOK BOOK CLUB

As the late great Chef Gusteau once said ‘anybody can cook’.

Well, I bake the odd hundred cakes or so as deso birthday cake maker, and the responses I was consistently receiving on my socials was ‘I really want to cook more, but I don’t have a reason to’.

I truly love the connections you make with people over food, and thought this would be perfect time to create a cooking club in Naarm!

So myself and my friend Joan decided to whip up this concept, it still needs a bit of time in the oven, but our first scheduled meet-up is for August 11th.

YULE

The Yule-themed dinner with friends was a festive affair filled with delicious food and lively conversation. Each guest brought a dish inspired by the season, resulting in a diverse feast. From mulled wine to roast turkey and decadent desserts, the table overflowed with flavours of the holiday.

Between bites, friends shared stories and traditions associated with the holiday, fostering a sense of warmth and camaraderie. As the evening came to a close, everyone departed with full hearts and promises of future gatherings.

SCALLOPS SISTERS

Cooking for others, is truly one of the greatest pleasures in world to me. It allows me to pour my heart on the plate, connect flavours to memories, design pieces of seasonal artwork and bring those who I love into my mind. There’s never not a moment when I’m thinking of recipes or combinations I want to try out.

This dinner was for my ‘scallop sisters’, named such because of their epicurean interests. Bellies bursting, cheeks red from the wine and souls full. Bringing us together in a fleeting moment as they live interstate, we will cherish moments like this we’re as old and wrinkly as muscatel grapes.

WINTER SOLSTICE

The Winter Solstice dinner party was a feast for the senses, with a cozy atmosphere illuminated by twinkling lights and flickering candles. The table was adorned with seasonal delights: spiced mulled wine warmed both body and soul. Amidst the delicious fare, guests exchanged thoughtful gifts, each accompanied by a heartfelt message on a beautifully crafted card. Laughter and joy mingled with the aroma of winter spices, creating unforgettable memories of warmth and togetherness on this special evening.
